Starting right from Narampanawa Village, you will step into a world of lush greenery and local hospitality. The trail winds through quaint villages and traditional Kandyan Forest Gardens.

Bambaragala Rock Climb: The "Short & Steep" Challenge

If you are looking for a shorter excursion that delivers maximum reward, this is the hike for you. It is a "short but intense" climb designed for those who want to break a sweat and be rewarded with one of the best viewpoints in the region.
🏯 The Hidden Temple
The journey begins with a short 20-minute drive to the base of Bambaragala Rajamaha Viharaya. This temple is a true hidden gem, revered by locals and partially built directly into the rock face. You will ascend a flight of steep stairs to explore the temple grounds before the real nature hike begins.
⛰️ The Ascent
From the temple, the trail shifts into high gear. You will hike through the forest for approximately 45 minutes. The terrain is adventurous, transitioning from steep stairs to forest paths and rocky outcrops.

The Summit: Upon reaching the top of the rock, you will be greeted by spectacular panoramic views of the shimmering Victoria Lake and the surrounding mountain ranges.

The Knuckles Base & Tea Estate Trek
A Full-Day Journey Through Culture, Jungle, and Mountains
For those seeking a true challenge and a deep dive into rural Sri Lankan life, this spectacular hike offers the most diverse landscapes of all our activities.
🛤️ The Route: Villages & Tea Country
Starting directly from the Lodge, you will traverse a changing landscape of quaint villages, local temples, and dense jungle. As you ascend, you will enter the tea country, offering fantastic views and a glimpse into the daily lives of the tea pluckers, including the famous historical "Line-rooms" (traditional housing for tea estate workers).
🏔️ The Destination: Knuckles Base & Jungle Pool
The trail involves a steady climb, taking you all the way to the base of the majestic Knuckles Mountain Range. The reward for your effort is a pristine natural pool created by cascading waters.

The Swim: Take a dip in the crystal-clear water (approx. 18°C)—the perfect way to cool down after the climb.
🍃 The Return: Tea Factory Visit
For the return leg, you have two options:

Relax: Catch a local bus from the swimming spot.

Extend: Walk an additional 4km through forest cover to visit a modern Tea Factory, followed by a bus or Tuk-Tuk ride.

This trek takes you deep into the heart of the Knuckles Mountain Range—widely known as the most biodiverse area in Sri Lanka. It is a journey designed for nature enthusiasts who want to experience the wilder side of the island.
🚙 The Scenic Approach
The adventure begins with a drive in the Tuk-Tuk. This isn't just a transfer; it’s a scenic tour in itself, offering breathtaking views of valleys, tea estates, and shimmering lakes as we ascend to the starting point.
🦅 Into the Wild
Once on the trail, you will embark on a medium-to-hard hike (12km total) through amazingly diverse landscapes. You will trek through dense cloud forests and cross mountain streams. Keep your camera ready—this area is a haven for birdwatching and home to rare lizards found nowhere else on earth.
⛰️ The Highlight: Mini World's End
The climax of the hike involves a stunning 3km walk along the ridge known as "Mini World’s End." Here, the terrain flattens out, allowing you to catch your breath while soaking in dramatic drop-offs and panoramic views of the mountains.

This is your chance to conquer the top of the Knuckles Mountain Range. Designed for the fittest adventurers, this full-day expedition takes you to the very roof of the region.
🏔️ The Ascent
After an early morning start and a 1-hour scenic drive, we begin the climb into the Knuckles Reserve. You will trek through dense forests on fairly flat ground before the real challenge begins: the steep ascent to Peak 1.

The Summit: After approximately 3 hours of climbing, we continue to Peak 2. Here, on top of the world, you will enjoy a well-deserved picnic lunch with breathtaking panoramic views.

The 7 Waterfalls Adventure (Kotanganga Trek)
Climb, Swim, and Conquer the Cascades
Calling all adventure junkies! If you love water and aren't afraid of a steep climb, this is the ultimate day out. This trek takes you up a spectacular cluster of seven waterfalls, rising over 100 meters through the jungle.
💦 The Ascent: Into the Falls
After a scenic 1-hour drive to the trailhead, the adventure begins at the base of the first waterfall—perfect for a quick pre-hike dip. From here, the trail gets steep and exciting. You won't just look at the waterfalls; you will climb alongside them, weaving in and out of the cascades through dense forest cover.
🌄 The Summit: Kotanganga
Your goal is the top of the final waterfall, "Kotanganga." Here, you step out of the jungle to a stunning viewpoint of the Kandyan Hills. It’s the perfect spot for a picnic lunch and another refreshing swim in the cool mountain water.
🥾 The Descent: Thangappuwa Forest
After recharging, we begin the 7km descent through the dense Knuckles Forest towards the village of Thangappuwa. The trek ends at a traditional tea estate "Line-House," where our jeep will be waiting to drive you back to the lodge.

Knuckles Overnight: Village Trek & Camping Under the Stars
2 Days | Traditional Villages | Rustic Camping | Bonfire Night
Experience a whole other side of Sri Lanka on this immersive overnight adventure. Leave the rush behind and walk deep into the Knuckles Mountain Range, where life moves to the rhythm of nature.
⛺ Day 1: Culture, Tea & The Climb (12km)
We begin by walking through Heeloya, a traditional village surrounded by emerald rice fields. Watch villagers attend to their daily chores before we climb into the tea plantations. Here, you will witness the authentic rural life of the tea pluckers and see the historical "Line-rooms."

Mid-day Reset: We break for lunch and a cooling swim in a beautiful natural rock pool.

The Night: The hike ends at a rustic campsite on the border of the mountains. Stay in a tent or a wooden cabana, enjoy a traditional dinner, and end the night singing songs by a roaring bonfire.
🌄 Day 2: The Morning Vista (Short Trek)
After a fresh breakfast, we start at 8:30 AM for a shorter, scenic walk (approx. 4 hours). The trail leads toward Peru Village, offering breathtaking views of the mountains and Victoria Lake in the distance.
